How our shredding service works
A step-by-step guide to our shredding services
Many people think that GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) only applies to digital data. However, this is not the case at all!
GDPR also applies to physical copies of sensitive data. How long this information is kept for, how this paperwork is stored, and how secure these papers are, are all part of GDPR. Not complying with these laws can see companies fined up to €20 million!
In addition to this regulation, fraud is an ever-growing risk in Glasgow. It’s vital to protect yourself, your employees, and your customers from the risk of fraud and identity theft.
That’s why your company needs a Glasgow paper shredding service. That’s why you need WRC Shredding Services.
Glasgow Shredding Services
There are two main methods of shredding available to our Glasgow clientele. These methods are onsite and offsite shredding.
Onsite Shredding in Glasgow
Onsite shredding is when our trusty shredding truck will come straight to your Glasgow premises. Our truck is fitted with a powerful shredder that will shred your documents within minutes!
This method of shredding is ideal for Glasgow companies with strict rules concerning privacy and safety. You can watch all your sensitive information be shredded right in front of you – giving you perfect peace of mind!
Offsite Shredding in Glasgow
On the other hand, offsite shredding happens at our secure recycling facility. Our destruction drivers will collect your sensitive files from your Glasgow office and transport them to our site in Inchinnan.
All our vehicles are fitted with GPS tracking software and our recycling facility is surrounded by CCTV. Regardless of what shredding method you choose, you will always be guaranteed the highest security.
Our shredding process
Yet, how does our shredding service work? How can we guarantee a thorough shred or maximum security for your Glasgow business? Below is a step-by-step guide on the WRC Shredding Services process.
1. Delivery
We have a range of supplies on offer. From lockable cabinets to confidential bags – there is something to suit every requirement. During our first correspondence, we will establish what equipment will suit your needs. After this is settled, a date and time will be agreed for delivery to your Glasgow premises.
2. Collection
Once your chosen apparatus is full, make sure to give us a phone to arrange an appointment. One-off appointments are available as well as scheduled. Then, we will organise a suitable date and time for our destruction team to arrive at your Glasgow office.
3. Shredding
The next step will depend on whether your Glasgow company have opted for onsite or offsite shredding. If you have chosen onsite shredding, your documents will be transported to our mobile shredding truck where they will be shredded within minutes. You are welcome to supervise during the shredding to comply with any regulations your business may have.
If you have opted for offsite shredding, your confidential waste will be securely placed into one of our GPS tracked trucks.
4. Secure Transport
All our vehicles are fitted with GPS tracking software. This will give you perfect peace of mind. Our trucks will securely transport your sensitive documents, shredded or otherwise, to our recycling facility in Inchinnan which is covered in CCTV cameras for further security.
5. Disposal
If you have opted for offsite shredding, your documents will then be shredded in our powerful shredders at our Inchinnan plant. When the paper is thoroughly shredded, it will be baled together.
6. Certificate of Destruction
No matter what stage your shredding has taken place at, you will be presented with a Certificate of Destruction after its completion. This document will clearly state the date and time of the shredding, as well as what was shredded, so make sure you keep a hold of this for your records!
7. Recycle
After all shredding is finished, your newly shredded waste will begin its new journey. The shredded paper we create is then made into tissue, toilet, and kitchen paper. It can even be used to make compost! You can rest easy knowing you’re keeping yourself safe while helping the environment.
