Zero Waste Scotland

Funded by the Scottish Government and European Regional Development Fund, Zero Waste Scotland is a not-for-profit environmental organisation. Their goal is to achieve a Circular economy through education, encouragement, and legislation. 

Zero Waste Scotland have been applying strategies to encourage the growth of a Circular Economy. These strategies are supported by the Scottish Government who wish to achieve a number of environmental targets by 2050.

Circular Economy

Typically, an item is sold, used, and then discarded. These items would be dumped to landfill, their lifespan complete after one use.

A “Circular Economy” aims to change this lifespan. Items will no longer serve one use, instead they will be used to its maximum potential through recycling and re-use.

WRC Shredding and our sister company WRC Recycling have been working closely with Zero Waste Scotland. Together, we hope to achieve a Circular Economy.
